Dody I am so glad you are safe. It seems that all the digest members in southern florida have faired well also. We do have one member that is in the Keys that I am concerned for but hopefully she is safe. Now we have to turn our concerns and prayers for those up the coast of Florida and those in the landfall strike probability that seems to be from eastern Miss to the Panhandle of Florida. It seems that Mobile Alabama or Gulf Port Miss have the hightest probability. They are all in my thoughts. I just heard on the news that those people in Pensacola Florida are not taking the evacuation seriously and are not leaving. I urge you if your out there reading this to please heed the warnings and go to higher and safer ground. Don’t take the risk. We love you and we want you back among us safe and sound. Thanks for all the support and prayers for those of us in the path of Hurricane Georges. I live on the eastern shore of Mobile Bay and right now  we are in the middle of the predicted path. We are told to expect Georges early on Sunday morning. The good news is that it seems everyone is getting prepared early. The grocery store shelves are emptying fast and there are lines at the gas stations. My office and other businesses in the area have boarded up early.  It is somewhat unusual for so many to get prepared so far in advance. Maybe this will serve to scare him away!   All of the activity on this board lately has been great. If I am off line for days or a week, it will take another week to get caught up. Thanks for the prayers. It is always difficult for me with a hurricane in sight because I don’t want to wish it on anyone else, but I have to confess I often pray hard that it won’t come to see me. Peggy

Agreed – Many prayers and thoughts going your way.  See you online after the electricity is back.

I haven’t seen this covered here and this is a perfect time to bring it up.  I like Dody was spared here in Tampa Bay.  In my preparations for this storm I went to get my medications and was told that I couldn’t because the drug plan I have would not allow more that a two week supply.  In other words I had to be within a two weeks of running out for a script to be filled.  I was taken back by this news.  So I paid full price and will have to submit it later for payment.  Has anyone experience this. I haven’t but I’ll certainly be interested in how you file it later and if they pay.  I’d also call or write your insurance company and tell them what happened and ask if they have any alternative in this sort of emergency (I’m going to just based on your experience!)

To Peggy and those in the path of George….it has just passed us here in Tampa Bay and we were very fortunate.  I was in a mandatory evacuation zone and left Wed night and just returned this morning (fri)….no damage in my area .  We were very lucky that George went further out into the gulf……prayers for you guys north of us …hope it weakens before it gets to you.  Take cover and be careful.  Dody in St.Pete

I wanted to let everyone in the Carribean, South Florida, The keys and Gulf coast states that you will be in our thoughts as George makes his way out there in the ocean. It seems that the keys are in danger of being hit and south Florida and then it looks like it will move into the Gulf of Mexico and could threaten Gulf states by weekend. I am really pulling for you all and wishing for the best. I lived through Hugo when it hit South Carolina in 89. Our entire community was destroyed except the street that I lived on. Our home was damaged but it survived the storm so I really can relate to your worries and concerns right now. You would think under the circumstances they would have made exceptions. That is too bad. Thankfully you were spared from the storm.
