Scleroderma Information » Scleroderma » In Response to Metronym and Doris

Question:

The reason that the additional mail you apparently sent to my private mail box was not put through,  simple.  I took advantage of my mail controls.  Also Metronym why did you reply to a comment I had made on the AOL bulletin board in this news group?.  Easy answer, no board monitor here,  This is the close I hope of any additional childs play.  I have decided that a forum with a monitor is a far better place.        I look forward to becoming an active participant on Sherry’s digest but, will wait until my retirement is final and I can participate in both a giving and receiveing manner.  I suppose I could say I am surprised to have walked right into an internet competition.  I am not one to pass up what I feel is a wonderful thing due to a handful of adults who prefer to behave like children. Aye, Captain, lol!  What I see is a contrast in her words.  She complains about this not being a moderated discussion and then turns around and mentions the Free Speech given us by our Constitution.  Too much mention of "digest" only leaves me to one conclusion.  "Conspiracy", lol!  HUGS~ Jenn – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -> I am reminded of the troll postings of yore. I am reminded of the troll postings of yore. Does anyone else see the remarkable similarities to another? In response to the first message in this thread from DaysL…@aol.com, I write the following response. There are two salient facts you seem to be ignoring: (1)  Although you obviously fantasize about it quite often,  I did not nor do I have any intention of every sending you an e-mail. (2)  Contrary to your fervent hope, I do not follow you from place to place hanging on to your every word.  I quoted directly from the message you posted to this newsgroup as pasted below. I suggest that you read the charter for this newsgroup and the code of conduct for the AOL bulletin board.  Perhaps you will better understand proper behaviour for both venues. "I want to say thanx for the invitation to join another support group.  I also want to say that I appreciate the interest in me that another member showed.  I am sorry but I prefer the open format of a news group or bulletin board at the present time.  I am still working part time.  I also don’t really think that time would ever permit me to belong to a news letter such as the one described to me.  Yes I have had diffuse systemic scleroderma for 13 years.  I have suffered terribly from time to time.  I have managed to continue with the life I chose to live.  My husband and four children have helped along the way.  When I signed on I was amazed at the choice of online support that was available.  I am upset at the present time due to the amount of mail that has filled my private mail box.  I posted to a public forum and I do not desire being dragged into some rediculous online ‘contest’.  Metronym your public response seemed warm and kind and made me wonder why you felt  the need to continue in private.  The e-mails that followed explained.    .  I will not be pushed to join what looks to be an online coffee clatch.  I also take offense to being told what to post.  This news group just as any other is an open forum.  I believe that  this country still abides by the Constitution and freedom of speech.  I may be a newcomer but I am no fool.  It is disheartening to read what is posted here and to take it further into my private mail is childish and down right rude.  I hope that you will decide to drop this and keep it within your own e-mail.  As for myself I prefer a moderated group and will return to such.  I also plan when time permits to return to the list I originally joined.       I recall your first name as being Sherry.  I applaud your tenacity and the format that you created.  When I subscribed to your newsletter other then a welcome.  I never was sent anything privately unless asked for my permission. I realize that this is long but it needed to be said.  From this time on all who have written are blocked.
