Scleroderma Information » Scleroderma » MTX injections, again;)

Question:

…. In order to remember how to do it the right way, I`ve got a nurse friend of me to write down the prosedure from her prosedure book. I can then have the note in front of me to be sure to do everything in the right order:)! Just in case of a bad psartrifog attack:)!

OK, Aase, pick one:     a) sartifrog – a bright yellow, deadly poisonous, tree                      frog native to Brazil     b) sartrefog – a state of mind exhibited by philosophy students        after pulling an ‘all nighter’     c) sratifrugge – don’t clean behind your stove for 15 years and        that’s what you find living there Inquiring minds want to know! Cheers. Phil.

Hi! Thanks! I am going to buy some needles tomorrow. I called the doc`s office to give my report just now, and had the nurse check their supply… Seems like they don`t use subcut. injections much at all, the needles were out of date;)… Size 28 is a lot thinner than 25 isn`t it? I don`t mind that, even if I didn`t mind 25 either:)… — Best regards,                Visit my home page at: Med vennlig hilsen,          http://home.newmedia.no/flaker/ *****TO E-MAIL ME, PLEASE REMOVE ‘NOSPAM’ IN THE HEADER*****

MTX by subcutaneous injection for a couple years.  The only effect I seem to have is that I feel a little headachy up to one day afterwards.  I don’t know if it’s the MTX or not.    Did you ever have the wrist operation that we corresponded about?  I hope that it’s okay!  I had a right wrist fusion 14 months ago and have done well.    Take care,    Geri

Hope it goes as well for you as me.  I’m getting so good I don’t even feel my own injection!  I had nausea still the very first week, but it went away fast and I’ve never had it again.  Good Luck! Amie Y. visit the I HAVE SCLERODERMA website – http://www.epix.net/~knance/

Aase, That’s great news.  You know how I feel about injections vs. oral.  Good luck!!!!! Carol                 There’s a fine line between Saturday night and Sunday morning.                                                                Jimmy Buffet

Hi! I am glad I don`t mind injections:)! In fact, I`d rather do it myself than let others do it;) I am soooo busy with doing it the right way, I can`t feel a thing… The injection went beautifully. Last Thursday I was lying all day, nauseated like h***!!! Today I`ve been quite active, even visited my sister and her family and took over the kitchen making dinner for a bunch!!! Wonderful! I was a bit tired yesterday, didn`t want to do very much in the evening and felt like going to bed early, but that is nothing:)!!!! Today has been wonderful, nothing else to say!!! I am sooooo relieved!!! If it would have been continuing like it was, it would have been troublesome, that is for sure! I am sure that my stomach is as happy as me!!!!! PS! Since there has been some questions about what kind of needle to use… I used a 16 mm / 25 gauge needle. No problem at all!!! I gave myself the injection in the thigh, mostly because that is an easy place to put it. I discovered that I should have massaged the spot a bit better than I did, it got a bit tender. So, the next time I will inject it even a bit more slowly and do a good massage afterwards! Hi, all! Just a comment… The below posting looks like it was written on Saturday… It wasn`t. I wrote it on Thursday, but I`ve been having server problems, and didn`t get it posted until yesterday (Saturday). I have been feeling good all week since I gave myself my first injection on Wednesday!!! No problems at all! I am soooooo happy about it!!! So, if there is anybody out there on oral MTX who experience nausea or other GI problems, I would strongly suggest that you talk to your doc about using subcutaneous injections instead….. Worth a try!!! And, giving yourself the injections is no problem at all!!! Well, of course I can only speak for myself on that, but… I have had a lot of fear for needles in the past, and giving myself injections has more or less taken that fear away! I have tried giving myself immunizations (sp?) before, when I needed it because of travel… Aase Marit :) )))))               (if you want to e-mail me, look at the bottom of this) :Hi! : :I am glad I don`t mind injections:)!
