My father-in-law has had heartburn (reflux) for several years and dry scaly sores on his fingertips for some time. I’ve encouraged him to seek medical advice about this for at least 2 years. The problem with his fingertips got worse this winter. He finally asked his cardiologist about it (he had open heart surgery about 5 years ago) and was advised to see a rheumatologist. Today he told me that he had seen the rheumatologist, "had some tests done" and that he has "scleroderma" and that it is "like arthritis". I am trying to learn more about the illness and I want to know what I can do to help him. I’d appreciate your advice and information. Kathy
