Question:

I saw the rheumatologist today. (to those comparing their rheumies appearances to movie stars – she didn’t resemble anyone that I have ever seen, but she is verrrrry young, probably younger than my 32 year old daughter) In any event, she thinks that I probably have limited SD, but will not commit to a diagnosis until she has the results of my biopsy, which is scheduled for Oct. 26. If the results are positive, she will test cardiac and lung function (even though it is extremely rare with limited SD) because of an ongoing problem with chest pain. I would like to thank you all for you information and support. Terri "Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional"

Response:

Sounds good.  We’ll be anxious to here how it turns out for you.  Your heart and lung test even if no involvement is good to have early for a "baseline." They’re letting kids be doctors these days!  It’s definitely not that we’re getting _older_! ;-) – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text -AKushner wrote in message <19981014134209.12914.00000…@ng90.aol.com>… >I saw the rheumatologist today. Response:

Terri, When I was diagnosed they sort of leaned toward the limited form for about a year than through labs and symptoms it became obvious I had systemic which now they refer to as Diffuse. So it is normal for the doctors to hesitate to definately diagnose you for the first little while. I hope your chest pain goes away soon.
