Question:

My doctor told me last week I have evidence of rosacea. I have read Sherry’s information on it (don’t need your link Shelley been there) but I was wondering if anyone else here has this and if so what do they treat it with? My doctor said just to leave it alone and keep an eye on it. Response:

Annie there is a message board for rosacea on aol. It is located at keyword allhealth and then click the word "boards" in the little box lower right. Then choose Skin, hair and nails and if you scroll down the list you will find the rosacea listings. Just click it. They have two to choose from. One is mainstream medical and the other is alternative approaches. Annie, my eye dr. picked up on the rosacea.  He gave me a prescription for an antibiotic cream, which seemed to clear it up. Irene

There is slowly becoming more and more useful information on the net about rosacea. I have collected some useful links. The rosacea support group is a vibrant place too with 2 Drs. one writing a book and another making products specifically for rosaceans. For me a gentle cleansing routine, moisturising along with the rosacea-ltd disk, metrogel have all helped tame the beast. Dr. Linda Sy MD who is know for her skin care products has released one of her regular newsletters, this one is devoted to rosacea. It has an article from Geoffrey Nase PhD, who is in the final stages of a book on rosacea. The newsletter is well worth a read, see http://www.ozemail.com.au/~pascoedj/rosacea/sy_16_4.pdf (225Kb) davidp. — David J.
