Question:
Is there any lotion or cream that would help reduce the roughness (visually) of scleroderma? I have a large patch on my neck, I hate wearing necklaces because it draws attention to it (and when the light hits the right way it looks like elephant skin) …not wearing my necklace my son gave me is upsetting to him, he is so happy to see me wearing it on the vast occasions that I do.
Response:
I have scleroderma and a friend gave me some lotion that is really great. I have roughness on my arms and hands. It’s "Bath & Body Works" body lotion "sensitive skin care with oat extracts to calm skin" "purely unscented". It has "No added color or fragrance" "Doctor tested". If you get a feeling I’m copying this from the label, you’re right. I found it to be really helpful. On the back: "not tested on animals" (if that’s important to you). The address is: Bath & Body Works, 97 West Main Street, New Albany, Ohio 43054 They have a chain of stores. I’m in Northwest Missouri and it was bought locally. I hope this information helps and that you can wear that necklace. Nell

>lotion that is really great. I have roughness on my arms and hands. It’s "Bath
& Body Works" Nell – I’m glad I’m not hallucinating! I had a bottle of the stuff, it was massage lotion really, but the most awesome stuff. I gave it away to someone undergoing chemo, and she wanted more. My local B&BWorks said they don’t know what the heck I’m talking about – that ALL of their lotions have fragrance. Thanks sooooo much for the contact info, I’ll be sure and lay in a good supply. to our health kelly
