Scleroderma Information » Scleroderma » Sed rate

Question:

Eva, There were some good information shared about sed rate under the subject thread called Back to Scleroderma. As Wendy told you Sherry would be glad to help you find information about Sed rate. The lab pages should also have some information on it. You could also go to http://www.yahoo.com and type in the search field Sed Rate or Laboratory tests. Maybe Sharon since she works in a cancer unit could answer your message with more detail. She should be pretty informed on the use of this test.

Eva, I have had CREST for 24 years. It started with Raynauds, then within 2 years I had the Esophogeal involvement. The other symptoms came on over a period of 5 years. I don’t know if this is typical for CREST, or if this is also an individual thing. Gill

Well where are all "the good people"  to answer your question ? Sharon – Hide quoted text — Show quoted text –

Response:

I was diagnosed with CREST about 8 years ago but had symptoms (Raynaud’s) for 5-6 years before that.  Heartburn started developing about 7 years ago.  While CREST can vary considerably, this is not an unusual pattern.  Some develop develop symptoms more rapidly (but still over a period of years), while others progress even more slowly. Please check out my scleroderma FAQ at:         http://www.synnovation.com/sclerodermafaq.html and follow up with any additional questions you might have.                                 Ed On Sat, 18 Apr 1998 18:54:03 +0200, fernand Schmit <fernand.sch…@vo.lu> wrote: >Excuse an European please – what is Sed rate ? >Does CREST start slowly or is it developed full at once ? >Looking through the french Scleroderma page to see if there is something >not know in US -but I don’t belive that..         Have a nice day >!                     Eva
