Scleroderma Information » Scleroderma » Uterine Prolapse

Question:

Sherry, Thanks for the warm thoughts!  No, it is not painful, just very uncomfortable…I may need two surgeries instead of one.  I won’t know until all the tests are done.  I have the uterine biopsy this Monday.  Funny thing: I am afraid of pain.  I can live with what pain I have from the Scleroderma, thanks to vicodin…but it is the unknowing pain of the biopsy I fear.  The doctor gave me an RX for something else to calm me down before the biopsy. Such a baby! LOL Dee Dee Hunt

A question for all: My uterus, bladder and rectum are all prolapsed.  I have to have a uterine biopsy and see a bladder specialist before OBGYN will do hysterectomy.  Has anyone else had this condition?  My assumption is it is related to SD because of loss of muscle tone which also affects my esophagus and colon.  Dr. agrees, but not usually a symptom of SD.   Thanks, Dee Dee Hunt

Oh DeeDee after all you have been through and now this. I am so sorry that you are facing this. I have had serious female problems but not associated with prolapse. I had a friend, she didn’t have scleroderma but she had a prolapsed uterus and I think vagina also. Anyway she did end up having to have a hysterectomy. She was rather young when this happened and she wanted to have children so they put off the surgery till after her first child. She had a healthy baby and then had the surgery. Keep us posted and let us know what they decide to do. BTW is it painful for you? My friend said it was uncomfortable but not extremely painful. I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers during this. — Love and Hugs From Sherry Messick Surviving Scleroderma http://www.SclerodermaSupport.com "Get Up, Stand Up and Fight to survive because Scleroderma Kicks you when you are down" "We are all Beacons Of Light for Each Other " Oprah Winfrey Tomorrow is promised to no one.
